Fernando Torres, the hero of the day
Fernando Torres, the hero of the dayFootball isn't that common out here in India but after a few days of watching the Euro 2008,(where my favourites are Germany) we decided to cash in on the football fever by practising some football at the nights.. There's a walking path near my place where it is quite free at the nights.. I found a lot of enthusiastic friends who agreed with the idea and there were nearly 20 guys who fought it out under the lights for more than and hour and personally I played quite well too..(not boasting but still, I hit the only goal for my team).. The match was won by us and all of them were sooo sweaty.. Yuk!! And we all had a small party for winning..
And yea, I caught up with the movie Dasavatharam and was just spell bound by his hard work and effort!! Sure it's going to be one real big box office hit.. The tsunami scenes were brilliantly created but it still looked a lil graphic! Otherwise the movie was jus too good!
My dad has offered me a sum of 2000INR if I could do his accounts! So I'm really busy doing six months of accounting in a single day! I mean it's not fun doing excel for 10 hours a day :-( I have no formal training in accounting and this is probably my first stint!
I usually am not too good at jobs, the first one I had was with Kiruba being his podcast analyst and it lasted just a month and then I had work with my dad which again lasted just a month! And the reason was none other than me! I quit both and now am working hard so that the same doesn't happen this time around too!
Dasavatharam has been one of the most hyped movies that has ever released in India. It has been titled as the costliest film and described as magnum opus of Kamal Hassan who acts in 10 different characters in this movie, which is the first of it's kind in the world!! I've been trying to get tickets for Dasavatharam through online ticket booking sites of cinemas like Inox and Sathyam. It's already full for the next 2 weeks in most of the theatres! Kamal Hassan in his various interviews has said that it deals with everything from a period film to a new up to date movie. Asin, plays 2 roles in the movie and is proving her mettle as a performing actress and Mallika Sherawat provides the glam quotient! The early reviews in are saying that it's technically one of the best movies ever produced in India & the audio is already a hit! Asin especially is looking cute and it seems her performance is taking everyone's notice! I was never a big fan of hers and just am confident she'll make an impression on me this time!
I was actually impressed by an interview in which Kamal Hassan goes to say, "When I watch this movie with my grand children, they should watch it and congratulate me saying that even a movie from their time is similar to this! " He also says, " He doesn't like to be slave of time", and wants to produce more such films that are from the future!
I'm looking forward to watching the movie as soon as I get my hands on those valued tickets.
It was a day to celebrate for bloggers down south! The bloggers meet organised by Indiblogger & sponsored by Microsoft was held in Hotel Dee Cee Manor, GN Chetty Road on the 8th of June! It was a fun event aimed at getting the bloggers closer to each other. The meet was attended by a fair amount of bloggers from the city of Chennai as well as neighbouring districts!
I was really eager to attend my first blogger meet but it just didn't happen for me. I enrolled for the event but couldn't make it because I had an unexpected even important appointment! Sorry guys for the skip:( I am waiting, ready and raring to go for the next meet!
It was a roaring success! I'll be updating this with a few pics from the event after getting the approval from my friends who have attended the meet!
Well, I just mentioned earlier that my exams got over and that just meant I was on my holidays! It's personally been one of the best holidays I've ever had!
I started the holidays off with some swimming with my sister and I found myself interested in tennis which I'll be joining to play soon. There was a short 3 day trip to Pondicherry to cheer my grandma for getting the award! Then I started reading a few novels (a new found habit) and as usual partying, going out with my friends, watching movies and TV shows which is why I'm up so late (it's 2 a.m here). I was watching a repeat telecast of So You Think You Can Dance on AXN and the winner BENJI definitely deserves it for his lovely personality and dancing skills!

Orkut has been in the news for all the bad reasons and it has been freaking me out!! Even though I was a full time Orkut user before I started blogging, I still used to go to Orkut very rarely! But now I'm freaked and really damn freaked and so they are losing one more client of theirs!! I'm not sure what's special about Facebook but i joined it just because Orkut's not really very safe! Facebook on the other hand is very personalized! After using Facebook for a month, I will try to distinguish between both Orkut's and Facebook's features!

You can be freaky and unsafe in orkut (or) you have to be dignified and safe in Facebook! The choice is yours.. If you had any personal scary incidents or nice incidents in orkut or facebook you can list them here!
Had to make a really quick trip to Pondicherry because my granny was being felicitated by an association for the part played by her in improving the lifestyle of the mentally challenged people in Pondicherry! She runs a home for the mentally challenged called Jwala! She has been running this for almost 2 decades now. She was really happy to see the entire family showing our support to her. I will soon be writing an elaborate write up with photos of JWALA!
You could show your love or your support by blogging a single line about JWALA in your blog so that it reaches newer lands and with it increasing the prospects of more funds and more improvement for the special people!!
